About the event

A magical offering, taking you through a transformative breathwork session to free your body and mind.

Our breath is our life force.  We cannot live without it. The body can breath naturally without focus of course, (an automated function of the body).  However the breath is the only autonomic function of the body that we can switch into something we do consciously (with attention and purpose).

The nervous system regulates everything in our bodies, so when it is in a dysfunctional state, it affects our whole being.  Through trauma, the nervous system can become dysfunctional, stuck in reactions from the past affecting the present. Your nervous system is governed by your unconscious mind, (it is not a conscious decision you are making to stay in these patterns). So it can create a battle in your head where the conscious mind (what we are aware of) rationalises things, but then 'triggers' come and you respond in old ways that you don't want to do. This cyclical breathwork will take you into the unconscious mind, somewhere you can not normally access and give the body space to  complete previously incomplete trauma releases and restore it's self.  This could be birth trauma, grief, inner child healing and more.  In these sessions, we do not go into the whys and whats of the past. We just observe, feel and release the emotion or sensation that is trapped in the body.

You will have the autonomy, space and freedom to go at your own pace, so as not to push yourself beyond what you are ready for.

When you observe animals, who have had a near miss with a predator, afterward they shake the body out, they release the energy and do not hold on to it.  This then allows them to come out of the fight, flight or freeze response.  For us humans, we rarely allow the body to move the trauma through us to complete the process. In this conscious breathing session you have the chance to release what you may be carrying, to connect with your body on an entirely different level and give it the space to do what it can instinctively do (when we don't allow our selves to suppress it!) During this process, it could be that uncomfortable things surface and you need to be prepared for this, but remember you are in control of your breath and how deep you go.  You will be held in a safe space. It is important to understand that avoidance of uncomfortable emotions keeps you in dysregulated patterns, so although challenging at times, it is what brings change and freedom.  Only you can decide what you are ready for and how far you go.

Run down of the session:-

There will be an introduction and explanation of what we are doing and why and a run through of various breathing techniques you can use to help you on a daily basis too.  Then we will spend no more than an hour in the active breathwork session itself.  Sophie will play insipiring music and drumming to keep you on track throughout. This breathwork has the ability to alter your state of consciousness, similar to psychadelics and bring feelings of bliss, connectiveness and oneness. As we shift into the restorative section of the session Sophie will play a blissful alchemy Sound Bath with the highest quality Crystal Tone bowls to bring extra soothing and nourishment.

Bring a journal for insights, water, a yoga mat, blanket and cushion.
