About the event
A magical offering, taking you through a transformative breathwork session to free your body and mind from the past and open your world on every level!
Our breath is our life force. We cannot live without it. The body can breath naturally without focus of course, (an automated function of the body). However the breath is the only autonomic function of the body, that we can switch into something we do consciously (with attention and purpose) and this has many benefits.
The nervous system regulates everything in our bodies, so when it is in a dysfunctional state, it affects our whole being, even organ function. Through trauma, the nervous system can become dysfunctional, stuck in reactions from the past (physically and mentally) with situations in the present.
Your nervous system is governed by your unconscious mind, (it is not generally a conscious decision you are making to stay in these patterns). Even though you may have some conscious awareness of certain things, if it has not been released and restoration of the nervous system completed, the same things will repeatedly surface.
This cyclical (continuous) breathwork will bypass certain brain circuitary, changing the blood flow to other areas of the brain, so that the repressed emotions can come through to be released. When staying with a connected breath through these releases, we train the nervous system and signal to it that we are ok, that we have felt, processed and released these emotions, then the cycle is complete and the nervous system can be restored.
This release can take many forms, some cry, shout out, hum, toning with the voice, tremor, stretch and so on. This is a safe place for all to be explored at a rate that you are ready to deal with. Sophie will also be there to assist with somatic release through the body if it is required and with your consent, or guide you to bring attention to the areas of the body she can see things are being held on to.
In this state you are deeply connected to the body, not the 'logical brain' there is no need to understand the why of what is happening, just to simply breathe and move in the way the body signals you too.
During this process of deep rhythmical breath, the brain produces more of it's own 'indiginous DMT). When we have an increase in this natural chemical within us, it can open the mind to a whole new plane of existance and reality. It can bring a much more expanded clarity, allow you to see things for how they truly are, to even connect to realities that most do not experience in their everyday conscious state. This can be truly life changing and bring a connection to the world around you and beyond on a deeply profound level.
You will have the autonomy, space and freedom to go at your own pace, without any pressure from Sophie, so as not to push yourself beyond what you are ready for.
Run down of the session:-
There will be an introduction and explanation of what we are doing and why and a run through of the various breathing techniques you can use to help you on a daily basis too. Then we will spend no more than an hour in the active breathwork session itself. Sophie will play insipiring music and drumming to keep you on track throughout. As we shift into the restorative section of the session Sophie will play a blissful alchemy Sound Bath with the highest quality Crystal Tone alchemy bowls, gongs and soothing vocals, to bring extra soothing and nourishment. There will be time for journalling of your experience before we come to a close.
Bring a journal for insights, water, blanket and cushion and wear layers as body temperature can fluctuate.
Held in the beautiful Tula studio in Orpington, it will be a very intimate breathwork session where you can explore and release in a very held and safe container.
