Joe's Gradual and Gentle Approach:

 

Joe prioritises your well-being throughout the Kambo ceremony. His approach is considered safer and more gentle for participants. He begins by opening an agreed number of 'gates' (superficial points on the skin) but applies only one point of Kambo initially.

He attentively observes and communicates with you about how you are receiving the medicine. Based on this, a joint decision, or solely your decision, can be made to deepen the process by applying more points.

​

Unlike some practitioners who require a large amount of water to be consumed before Kambo administration (which can be a harsher experience), Joe's approach involves a staggered intake of water later in the process. This provides a cooling and calming sensation, counteracting the heat sometimes experienced, and reduces the intensity at any one time.

Your Kambo Ceremony with Joe: A Step-by-Step Journey

​

To prepare for your Kambo ceremony, please ensure you have fasted, consuming only water for 12 hours beforehand.

​

Phase 1: Entering the Sacred Space

• Welcome and Smudging: You will be warmly welcomed into the healing space and smudged with Palo Santo to cleanse the energy.

• Opening Discussion: We will begin with an open discussion, where Joe will explain the Kambo ceremony process in detail, ensuring you feel fully informed and comfortable.

• Energy Cleansing: Agua De Florida will be used to further cleanse your energetic field, preparing you for the medicine.

• ​

Phase 2: Connecting with Intention

• Opening Shamanic Prayer: Joe will lead a gentle shamanic prayer, calling in our guiding energies, the wisdom of the four directions, and the spirit guides that support our healing journey. We will then gently drop into our hearts, setting a focused intention for the ceremony.

• Hapè Ceremony (Optional): A sacred tobacco medicine, Hapè, may be offered and administered through each nostril. This aids in grounding, centring, and opening the third eye, heightening intuition, opening the heart, and clearing any blockages.

• Guided Meditation and Intention Setting: Joe will guide a meditation to connect with Source and Earth energies, amplifying support for your process. You will be guided to gain clarity on your intentions and declare them to the universe.

 

Phase 3: The Kambo Application

• Opening the Gates: Small, superficial points (gates) will be created on the skin by lightly tapping with a hot incense stick. This allows access to the lymphatic system by gently penetrating the top layer of skin. The top layer will then be wiped away to open the gate.

• Re-explaining the Kambo Process: Joe will briefly reiterate the timeline and potential sensations you may experience at different stages, ensuring you feel prepared.

• Applying the Kambo: Joe will begin by applying one point of Kambo to the first gate. You will sit with this for approximately 5 minutes, allowing you to gauge your individual response to the medicine. Based on your experience, a joint decision, or solely your decision, will be made on whether to apply the remaining Kambo points to the other open gates.

 

Phase 4: The Kambo Experience (Guided and Supported)

Joe will be present throughout, guiding, supporting, and coaching you through the entire Kambo experience.

• Initial Minutes (1-5 mins): You may feel a mild stinging sensation at the gates, followed by a rising heat through your body. Sensations may arise in areas where the Kambo is working. By around 5 minutes, the initial heat may subside as your body begins to integrate the medicine.

• Deeper Immersion (5-10 mins): If more points are applied, you may again feel a mild stinging and a rising heat. Throbbing sensations may occur in the areas being targeted by the Kambo. You might experience feelings of discomfort, restlessness, stomach cramping, or drowsiness, and your body may begin to tremble. Other individual sensations may also arise.

• The Purge (10-20+ mins): At some point during this phase, the majority of people will experience the purge. When your body indicates it's time, you will be guided to drink three glasses of water. This helps to soothe and cool you while facilitating the release of toxins. You will purge into a provided bucket. Joe will remove the Kambo from the gates at this point and cleanse the area. Further rounds of drinking two glasses of water followed by purging may occur until the process feels complete for you.

 

Phase 5: Integration and Healing

• Rest and Stillness: Following the purge, you will be invited to rest and simply be still, listening to calming and healing music.

• Gate Protection: Joe will apply Dragon's Blood, a natural antiseptic, to protect the open gates and aid in skin healing.

• Healing Integration: Joe will then facilitate a healing session to support your integration of the Kambo experience. You may experience shivering or cold sensations, and warm blankets will be provided for your comfort.

 

Phase 6: Closing the Ceremony

• Nourishment and Sharing: A warm drink of electrolytes will be served. Joe will share any intuitive insights gained during your healing. You will have the opportunity to share your experience with the group (if applicable).

• Guidance and Aftercare: Joe will answer any questions you may have and thoroughly explain the aftercare procedure to support your continued well-being.

• Honouring the Process: The contents of the purge will be respectfully flushed, with gratitude offered to Mother Earth for taking it away.

• Closing Prayer: The ceremony will conclude with a prayer of gratitude, thanking all guiding energies for their assistance.
