Kambo

What is Kambo?

 

Is a waxy defensive secretion, taken from the skin of the Amazonian Giant Monkey Tree frog. It contains potent bioactive peptides, which are key in the cleansing process.

How does it work?

Via superficial, small burns to the skin. The Kambo goes directly into the lymphatic system.

What are the benefits of Kambo?

The specific peptides in Kambo have powerful effects on the body. The intestines, the bowels, salivary glands and tear ducts, a deep cleansing of the digestive system.

Joe's gradual approach

​​

Joe takes great care of the wellbeing of the client during these sessions. This particular process is considered safer and more gentle for the participant.

​

He opens an agreed amount of 'gates' on the body. However he only applies one point of Kambo initially.

 

He observes and talks to you about how you are receiving this medicine. From this point a joint, or sole decision on your part can be made on taking the process deeper or not, by applying more points.

​

There is a significant amount of water required to drink, some practitioners stipulate you must drink the whole amount before having the Kambo administered. This is a much harsher experience for most.

 

With Joe's approach the water begins later in the process and is staggered. This brings a cooling and calming sensation in the body with the heat experienced and reduces the intensity at one particular time.

Run down of ceremony

Prior to Kambo ceremony you will have fasted, only consuming water for 12 hours.

⁃ Administered through each nostril
⁃ Sacred tobacco medicine for grounding, centreing and opens the third eye.
⁃ Heightening our intuitive sight
⁃ Opening our hearts
⁃ Clearing blockages

Guided Meditation and intention setting
⁃ During this we will be focusing on bringing energy from source and from the Earth to support our process.
⁃ Getting clarity on your intentions and declaring them to the universe.

Opening of the gates
⁃ Make small burns by lightly tapping the skin, with the tip of a hot incense stick.
⁃ This penetrates into the top layer of skin, in order to access the lymphatic system.
⁃ Wipe the top layer of skin away to open the gate.

Re-run through the Kambo process
⁃ Timeline estimate of how you may feel and what may arise at certain times during the process.

Applying the Kambo
⁃ First I apply one point of Kambo to the first gate
⁃ Sit with this for 5mins and gauge how you are handling the experience.
⁃ If necessary apply the remaining points of Kambo to the other open gates.

The Kambo Experience

I will be guiding, supporting and coaching you through the entire process.

1-3mins

⁃ A mild stinging sensation on the open gate

3-5mins

⁃ Heat rising through the body, you may feel sensations in the body where the Kambo starts to work.
⁃ By 5mins you may feel the heat decrease and you start to return to a normal state of being.

5mins

⁃ Apply Kambo to the remaining gates.

⁃ Again you may feel a mild stinging sensation.

5-7 mins

⁃ Heat may rise through the body.
⁃ You may start to feel throbbing in the areas the Kambo is working

8-10mins

⁃ You may feel uncomfortable and restless
⁃ You may feel stomach cramping
⁃ You may feel drowsiness
⁃ Your body may start to tremble
⁃ Other sensations may also felt

10-20mins

⁃ At some point during this time period it will be time to purge for the majority of people.
⁃ When the time is right for you, you will start to drink the 3 glasses of water.
⁃ This helps to soothe and cool you but also helps bring on the purge
⁃ Purge your toxins out of your body into a bucket
⁃ I will remove the Kambo from the gates at this point and clean the gates.
⁃ Drink 2 glasses of water
⁃ Purge again
⁃ Drink 2 glasses of water
⁃ Purge again
⁃ By this time most are finished with the purging
⁃ If you are still feeling the effects, then you will repeat the drinking of water and purging again.

Following the Kambo

⁃ You will rest and just be still listening to beautiful healing music.
⁃ I will apply the dragons blood to protect the gates. It is an anti-septic and helps the skin to heal.
⁃ We will then go into a healing with myself.
⁃ Your body may shiver or sensations of being cold. I will wrap you up in warm blankets if required.

Closing of the ceremony

⁃ Warm drink of electrolytes is served
⁃ I will disclose the information of the healing session
⁃ You can share your experience
⁃ I will answer any questions you have
⁃ Run through aftercare procedure
⁃ Flushing of the purge and giving thanks to Mother Earth for taking it away.
⁃ Close Ceremony thanking all guides and energies for their assistance
